The triptych depicts the following six kabuki actors (from right to left):

- NAKAMURA TAMANOSUKE as the apprentice, Santaro
- NAKAMURA SANKO I as the daughter, Okumi - ASAO KUNIGORO III as Banto Shohachi
- SEKI SANJURO II as Doguya Jinza
- NAKAMURA UTAEMON III as Hokaibo, and
- OGATA KICHITARO as Yosuke
