Against a solid black ground, a multi-colored Parrot perching in the branches of an ancient flowering rose tree. - Jakuchu was a Kyoto-born painter and print artist. Specialized in paintings of elegant barnyard fowl. His prints, like the sample shown here, are done in 'ishirzuri' technique, - designs printed in white reserve on black.
