A very good brush work showing Daikoku, the God of Good Fortune riding an ox, the way the god most often is depicted, unless in company with the other six Goods of Good Luck. The preparatory drawing shows three interesting sketch details, - two versions of the ox's head at bottom, and a detail drawing of Daikoku's hand position at upper right -, these give us a good idea of the artist's working method (see larger picture next page). |
